Gather your seeds, seedlings, plant cuttings and small plants to swap/exchange with others! Join us for a wonderful community affair, perhaps you can pick up on something you’ve wanted to grow but couldn’t find the seeds. It’s a great time to get out and meet folks in the “growing community!” We’ll see you there. Bring your own seed collection envelopes and/or containers.

EVENT UPDATE:

We had a wonderful turnout of folks from the Gardening/Farming Community that came out with interesting and rare exchanges. Everyone agrees, we need to do this again! We look forward to organizing another Seed Swap in Spring 2023.

Several attendees took the opportunity to visit our St. Charles Street Urban Community Garden & Orchard just a short distance from Shape Community Center.

This limited edition quilt block “The Monkey Wrench” was introduced at this year’s “Juneteenth Culinary Celebration” and is hand-stitched and custom designed by the Jubilee Quilt Circle of Houston, TX in connection with the Community Artists’ Collective. The Monkey Wrench is one of nine quilt blocks that make up the historic “Underground Railroad Quilt.”

There are four color options to choose from: Vintage, Navy, Brown, and Grey.
