ECO Market Cafe “ECO” is a branch of ECOTONE a Comprehensive Community Sustainability Model launched in Third Ward, Houston, TX.
ECO is under construction and being developed to serve the surrounding community currently faced with challenges such as: prevailing conditions of an urban food dessert; a lack of urban economic development and sustainable infrastructure. ECO will offer fresh healthy meals and a venue advocating community empowerment and intellectual and artistic exchange.
Chef Tarsha is being incubated in this effort by Project Row Houses organization. ECO is located at 2320 Elgin (at the corner of Dowling), Houston, TX 77004, on the ground floor of the historic Eldorado Ballroom building (slated to receive its Texas Historical Land Marker in the summer of 2012).
While we are in the steady build-out phase of our projection, we are excited to begin offering engaging programming at the Cafe: Book Club, Garden Club, Cafe Dialogue Series, Cooking Classes, Community Sustainability Lectures, Farmers Market, and Poetry Nights. We hope that you will be able to join us as we round out the ECOTONE circumference with this addition to our sustainability model!
