Jack Yates Senior High School Photography Club finally comes to actually start building their own beds at the St. Charles Street Urban Community Garden which is located less than a mile (walking distance) from their school (proof that our sustainability plan for the garden is working).  The Club has graduated from just taking pictures of the garden to getting their hands in the dirt.  They are shooting a documentary about the process of urban community sustainability, bringing into focus the issues surround a food desert area; the importance of growing your own organic produce; and demystifying the hardship of becoming an “urban farmer!”

We will take this 3 month journey together until the documentary about their garden experience is complete.
